Whirlpool Corporation Plant Tour

World Class Manufacturing as an Operating System

Overview

Join the Manufacturing Leadership Council at Whirlpool Corporation’s (Dishwasher) Manufacturing Operations in Findlay, OH, for an opportunity to tour the facility and learn about World Class Manufacturing (WCM), the continuous improvement program in place at Whirlpool.

You will have an opportunity to see how Whirlpool Corporation is leveraging the WCM Methodology to attack top wastes and losses, improve safety, quality and cost, deliver product leadership and engage the shop floor.

Through its automated Kaizen management system, Whirlpool Corporation is able to collect data that helps identify the proper tools and resources to drive improvements.

The application of the manufacturing training system develops the workforce, and increases involvement and improves engagement.

WCM Methodology, through its 7 steps approach, aims to empower the shop floor in order to drive positive change.

Periodic audits, performed by Whirlpool Corporation leadership and an external consultancy company, are a cumulative process with a progression of award levels. In November of 2022, Whirlpool Corporation’s Findlay Operations was awarded the Bronze Level. Bronze is one of four award levels within WCM.

What does it mean to be a Bronze Level plant?
  • Meet or exceed safety and quality goals
  • Achieve cost savings target
  • Systematically expand the methodology throughout the plant
  • High levels of engagement at all levels of the organization
