Join the Manufacturing Leadership Council at the Harley-Davidson plant in York, PA for an opportunity to tour the facility and learn about their Lean Journey.  Additionally, you will have an opportunity to see how Harley-Davidson is using continuous improvement, visual management, & IoT to empower employees and improve problem solving.  This Harley-Davidson facility is an excellent representation of an engaged workforce leveraging technology and lean methods to enhance operational agility and flexibility.

Since 1903, Harley-Davidson Motor Company has fulfilled dreams of personal freedom with cruiser, touring and custom motorcycles, riding experiences and events, and a complete line of Harley-Davidson motorcycle parts, accessories, general merchandise, riding gear and apparel. Harley-Davidson’s York Vehicle Operations was established as an assembly facility in 1973.  They perform a variety of manufacturing operations – Fabrication, Paint, and Final Vehicle Assembly Operations for the Touring, CVO™, Softail® and Trike models.

John Mocny, General Manager, York, Harley-Davidson

John Mocny is the General Manager of Harley-Davidson’s York Vehicle Operations, where he oversees the production of Touring, CVO™, Softail®, and Trike motorcycles. He is responsible for overall plant safety, quality, delivery, cost, people, and sustainability.

Prior to joining Harley-Davidson, John was Corporate Director of Manufacturing at Spartan Motors, a producer of Fire Trucks and Delivery Vehicles. John was also the CEO at Bandit Industries and the Senior Director of Manufacturing for the Honeywell Aerospace Wheel and Brake division.  He also held roles at Caterpillar Inc., where he led a number of plants through the lean culture journey. John started his career at General Motors, eventually leading the transformation of their Lansing assembly plant and the implementation of their operating system.
